WebServer

MGTAXA web server front-end is based on an open source bioinformatics workbench Galaxy. We keep our own fork of the stable Galaxy source code at BitBucket mgtaxa-galaxy. The development within our Galaxy fork has two main goals:

1. add integration of our specific metagenomics tools
2. adapt the Galaxy to running jobs in two types of cluster environments:
   1. Restricted environments where the front-end runs on a DMZ server, the jobs are executed on the internal cluster, and the DMZ server is not allowed to initiate connections to the internal cluster
   2. Jobs are submitted to a TeraGrid cluster expecting large MPI processes
