aws_secret Returning the value instead of key/pair #173

SUMMARY

Trying to get valuer of our API Keys in the AWS Secret Manager. Do you know how to parse and only get the value instead of returning key/pair?

ANSIBLE VERSION
2.9.10
CONFIGURATION
ansible-galaxy collection install amazon.aws
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Run your ansible-playbook

vars:
api_key: "{{ lookup('aws_secret', 'api_key', region='ap-southeast-1') }}"
EXPECTED RESULTS

Only the API Key Value.

ACTUAL RESULTS
"{'api_key': '<api_key_value>'}"

Thank you for the issue @mariesheilag. We can't change the behavior of this module in this way as it would break all the existing playbooks. We would suggest asking on the ansible-community mailing list for a solution, most likely using jinja filters.

Bulk migration to AnsibleAWSModule (ansible-collections#173)

* Update comments to reference AnsibleAWSModule rather than AnsibleModule
* Bulk re-order imports and split onto one from import per-line.
* Add AnsibleAWSModule imports
* Migrate boto 2 based modules to AnsibleAWSModule
* Move boto3-only modules over to AnsibleAWSModule
* Remove extra ec2_argument_spec calls - not needed now we're using AnsibleAWSModule
* Remove most HAS_BOTO3 code, it's handled by AnsibleAWSModule
