improve Subscribe Mailing-list more clear

Hi, to encourage more users to subscribe to our mailing list, could we make this section more clear on the Homepage? even in the navbar or footer?

We only have one subscribe guide currently.

How about this workflow?

1. add Subscribe input box;
2. Once users enter their email, our systems (maybe Mailchimp) will send an email about how to subscribe Maling list.

But it's a little cumbersome for visitors 🤔

This was my first thought too, but as you said it would be a little cumbersome, instead of MailChimp sending them a mail on how to subscribe, leading them to the subscribing help page looked way easier too me, it's just that.

And for this history mails section, would an extra button next to Subscribe button work, with the text "See history mails", leading to https://lists.apache.org/list.html?apisix.apache.org

+1 agreed with Subscribe leading to the Subscribe Guide page.

Regarding to the history mails, how about use Mailing list here as the mails may still be under discussions at present.

In addition, it would be better to add the mailing list in Subscribe Guide page, as another entrance to mailing list page.

The UI is fine, but the UX of the buttons is not good enough. You use two primary buttons, when users see this, they will think "which button should I click?", It makes users feel confused.

Agree with this, if any way we are going to lead the user to the subscribe guide page then why not give user option to join history mails there. There is no need for primary and secondary button stuff here, task is one, "to join mailing list", whether it's history or current, so it would be better we keep one button.

Nothing much changed, added a 5th point in subscribe-guide to show pathway to history/archived mailing list, if user wants to checkout past discussions.

For the section on homepage, just removed the History mails button

Same as first design.
