• changes are in line with code review comments made earlier. Visually, the code should not generate any logical changes in results.
• jenkins tests pass (ignoring addOn failures, common to the baseline IB as well): there are no differences in comparisons with the baseline as expected

@cvuosalo is offline today, I took the liberty to sign off in case it can still go into the release

This pull request is fully signed and it will be integrated in one of the next CMSSW_7_6_X IBs (but tests are reportedly failing). This pull request requires discussion in the ORP meeting before it's merged. @davidlange6, @Degano, @smuzaffar
