The first export

Follow this series of steps to carry out your first Magento/Contactlab export.

Pre-export checklist

Carry out these checks, before starting the export process:

Setup configuration settings

Do the following:

  1. Open the Contactlab > Setup page.
  2. Check the settings in the File Transfer configuration dialog and the SOAP configuration dialog.

UK table status

Do the following:

  1. Open the Newsletter > Contactlab > Tasks page in the Magento Admin Panel main menu.
  2. Click Check unique Keys on the UK table panel, positioned towards the bottom of the Tasks page.
  3. If any errors are found, click Update unique Keys to queue a UK table update task.

Statistics

Do the following:

  1. Open the Newsletter > Contactlab > Tasks page in the Magento Admin Panel main menu.
  2. Click Fill statistics on the Import/export subscribers panel, positioned towards the bottom of the Tasks page.

Export configuration

Do the following:

  1. Open the Contactlab > Magento to Contactlab Configuration > Setup dialog.
  2. In the Enable field, check that Yes is selected to enable export operations.
  3. Check the settings used for the Export shipping address and Export billing address fields.
  4. Set the Export policy field to All subscribers only for the next export.
  5. Check the setting used for the Always export non-subscribed users.
  6. Set the Reset export dates before next export field to Yes.

Queue and run the export

To manually queue the export, do the following:

  1. Open the Newsletter > Contactlab > Tasks page in the Magento Admin Panel main menu.
  2. Click Queue Subscribers export job on the Import/export subscribers panel, positioned towards the bottom of the Tasks page.

To run the export if Cron has not been configured for Magento:

  • Locate the row containing the queued task in the Tasks table and click Run now in the Actions column.

Once the task is complete, check the status by clicking the corresponding row in the Tasks table to open the Events page.

Retrying a failed export

If an export fails, do the following:

  1. Identify and correct the cause of the error.
  2. Open the Contactlab > Magento to Contactlab Configuration > Setup dialog.
  3. Set the Export policy field to All subscribers only for the next export.
  4. Check the setting used for the Always export non-subscribed users.
  5. Set the Reset export dates before next export field to Yes.
  6. Remove any other export task from the queue.
  7. Manually queue the export again and if there is no Cron, click Run now.
