Get GPS Position without Google Location Services

As title says, at the moment Google Location Services seen to be mandatory as the app doesn't locate you when you deny the usage of GLS.

Yes, but in the new update, which will most likely be at the end of this week, you will be able to choose the city yourself.

I guess this is why it isn't working for me. It would be nice to have auto location without the use of proprietary services.
