Anonymous analytics and crash reports

Michael Thomsen edited this page Jan 26, 2016 · 3 revisions

To improve Dartino, we use Google Analytics to measure aggregated and anonymous usage of the tool.

On first run, Dartino prompts you to opt-in to measuring additional analytics data:

[?] Welcome to Dartino! We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports in
order to improve the tool (see http://goo.gl/27JjhU for details).

Would you like to opt-in to help us improve Dartino (Y/n)?

If you opt-in to additional analytics data, the Dartino tool uses Google Analytics to capture usage patters, exceptions, and errors (crash reports) generated by the tool.

We never collect the source code you pass to the Dartino tool.

Only Dartino core developers that have a need-to-know can view the data, and only in an aggregated and anonymized form.

To opt-out of additional analytics data, run dartino --no-analytics in a terminal. Using --no-analytics does not opt-out of Dartino update pings. The --no-analytics option is displayed when --help is used.

Dartino is covered under the Google Privacy Policy.
