mainly some attempts to target the 0xdead10cc issues of #1202; it is totally expected that #1202 is not fixed yet, but then we can exclude some more things.
doing a testflight as the exception-dialog is not visible without; probably also not when doing an app-store-release, so if #1202 turns out to be rare enough, #1202 might not be a blocker.
