Squash not allowed only explained after 2nd request to merge

What you expected to see, versus what you actually saw

As you can see in this screenshot, I asked dependabot to `squash and merge`. It waited for the CI to pass, I approved, and nothing happened.

Only when I asked it a second time did it update and say that squashes aren't allowed. I then was able to simply ask to merge and it did without a problem.

No they don't, but my point was that I had to ask dependabot a second time to merge before I got the error :)

Like I explained but maybe I didn't explained it correctly

• requested to squash and merge
• ci passes, nothing happens
• requested to squash and merge again
• this time the error explains that they are disabled
• ask to merge and it worked

This issue is for the fact that I had to request a second time for a squash and merge before I got the error message :)
