Application version scheme

Desura is just like mods, games and addons as it uses the mcf file to perform updates. It has a item type of TYPE_APPLICATION and the first 1000 application ids are reserved for it.

Application Id:

• 100 Public Windows

• 300 Beta Windows (opt in)

• 500 Internal Windows (staff)

• 110 Public Linux

• 310 Beta Linux (opt in)

• 510 Internal Linux (staff)

---

• 120 Public Linux64

• 320 Beta Linux64 (opt in)

• 520 Internal Linux64 (staff)

The mcf build number will represent different versions and both the application id and build number will be stored in the registry to keep track of the users version
