I've got X-Dream running on alternative hardware, but the videos are all blue, gray or some other consistent color. What to do? #16

There are some wmv files that can be found in the Trixter\Live\Movies folder - "attract" and "tier completion" videos. On hardware other than the original Trixter PC, these show as blank single color video in the X-Dream application, but play okay in various media players. e.g. Can this be fixed? |

If you have an NVidia GPU, it may simply be a matter of going to the Graphic Settings and adding the TrixterAppRelease.exe app, and set its options to "High Performance": If this strategy doesn't work for you, there is another option. There's a DirectX wrapper called dgVoodoo2 that will make these videos display correctly in the application. Download and extract the archive, and copy all these files to the directory where you have TrixterAppRelease.exe (i.e. don't retain folder structure):
dgVoodooCpl.exe will need read/write access to the file dgVoodoo.conf, so alter the .conf file's permissions or run dgVoodooCpl.exe as an administrator. Run dgVoodooCpl.exe to edit the settings. This has been observed to work on Intel HD, Intel HD 400, and Intel UHD 630 adapters. The only known problem that remains as of dgVoodo2 2.83 is the biker avatar on the user settings screen is rendered with no color. Workarounds Know when to press the green button (K) and when such a time arises, press it. |
