If current auto-range is set to auto (SENS:CURR:RANG:AUTO ON), and current range is set to best/default (SENS:CURR:RANG DEF) when output is in unregulated mode (OUTP:MODE? is UR, that can happen on some Power boards when voltage is set to small values) and current is set above 0.5 A firmware will starts to switch repeatedly current range between low and high range.
