It would be nice to have the dark theme on more places than just the dashboard.

+1 - We used to have the ability to make Sense dark theme too, but that was removed, so dark theme everywhere would help restore that lost functionality.

We're making progress towards this goal, but it will take some time. As we componentize Kibana's UI, we'll make sure each component supports the dark theme. Once Kibana's UI is based entirely off components, we should be able to support the option to view it in either the default theme or the dark theme.

some time has passed, my eyes are now bleeding. Can I help in making the dark theme everywhere, please I cannot see any more.

This, and the default colors/themes (sidebar, visualizations) are honestly atrocious. It looks like a unicorn barfed on my screen and it's extremely jarring. At least let us pick from some different themes for the visualizations (like, standard colors, pastels, whatever). Just give me back my Kibana 3 visualization colors :)

We're working towards this for Kibana 7. The goal is to both support light/dark natively on our side, but allow it to be fully theme-able through a sass config file. Stay away from weird shellfish until then.

So, something that will possibly happen in.... two years? more?

I don't really think that's much of a resolution.

I don't think it will be that long. We're actively building it now that 6.0 is releasing. You can follow progress on the K7 UI framework branch and start contributing components if you want to help. Here's a short gif of some of groundwork.

We're also actively hiring both a product designer and a UI engineer to work on the framework itself, so it's certainly a priority for us.

If you do want to help let me know, and I can give you some sketch files that cover some smaller projects.

Also. @NeilHanlon, if you're looking for a quick fix to color the actual visualizations, it's as simple as editing the seed colors in the following file. It doesn't work everywhere (things like TSVB have their own rendering), but it will get you mostly there.
