User story: As a candidate, PAC, or party, I want to know ASAP what the new limits for 2019-2020 will be.

Background Every two years, certain contribution limits are adjusted for inflation. The Information Division created a chart for this and Liz Kurland in that division will coordinate the publishing of a Federal Register notice that will be the official notice of the updated limits.

The chart has two components: 1. An html table snippet for the limits and 2. A text html block for a footnote to the chart that contains a limit that is adjusted but doesn't fit neatly into the chart. The snippet and the html block are inserted on all pages that contain the contribution limits. Updating the snippet updates the chart on those pages. We'll have to manually update the html block unless issue #2556 is completed before this one (that issue is to allow the creation of text snippets).

List of pages using snippet: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1A_qyq7sSYpafxaVKDzqYknBxqjE2CFSl7BBIX7qXaW0/edit?usp=sharing

Completion criteria

  • Update the snippet that's inserted on these pages: "Current contribution limits" and change description to note it's for 2019-2020.

  • Update the html block with the footnotes with the newly adjusted limit in the text of the 4th footnote. (This will have to be done in each of the pages listed in our document.)

image

  • Update the video that is linked in the "continue learning" section of the contribution limits page to the 2019-20 version.
  • Update the video that is embedded in the citizens' page (its limit section was updated).
  • Doublecheck each of the pages in the document to make sure we got all of the changes.
  • Go through all H4CC pages to ensure that text, snippet, Record article link and/or video are most up to date in terms of limits.

Tagging in @kathycarothers who will help us with this once the limits are public.

Updating completion criteria to add in updating the video link we keep in contribution pages. We'll have a new video for this.

Updated the completion criteria. We realized there are many H4CC pages that include the snippet, and/or the continue learning link to the video, the bi-annual Record article and text description of limit. We're logging these pages and in #2670 we'll add these pages to our list of annual updates.

We've finished our updates to the H4CC pages and can close this issue.
