Does using port 5000 cause any problems, or ist this just for consistency with others? If there's nothing to be gained by changing it, I'm inclined to leave it alone.
You are right. The port number actually didn't matter because we also
publish the port number via mDNS. I was mistaken when I file this issue.

I'm not sure which is correct, but it seems like 5002 is more commonly used port (e.g. shairport).
