Is it possible to keep feline always on top?

I'd like to have feline be always on top (e.g. when nvimtree is open).

(in the image above you can see how it disappears when I have the tree open)
Is that even possible? This is my first custom neovim config, so I'm still learning.

Hey! I'm currently on the road, will be by my computer later tonight. I can take a closer look then, but my guess is nvimtree is hiding the status bar (I could be wrong). You can look at the laststatus setting in Neovim and also check if Nvimtree is hiding it (:help laststatus).

I just saw this, sorry! Is it possible to have the status line always on top of buffers? As in you have multiple buffers open and it will stay on top?

Is this fixed by the laststatus settings (it seems like laststatus doesn't change anything)? I'm new to neovim and this is my first config so I'm not really sure what's going on.

I just realized that laststatus 3 should do what I want, but it doesn't work. Nvimtree seems to still hide it and I'm not sure how to force it to stay

Okay I just tested it. Laststatus=3 works. It's just that nvimtree seems to hide it for some reason.

If you want to have the statusbar render for nvimtree (which doesn't really make sense), just override the default options when you
call setup. Refer to the default values in the link I posted.
