Offline OH simulation in GCHP? #351
Comments
Hi @cbutenhoff, what offline OH simulation are you referring to for GC-Classic? Which simulation are you choosing when creating a GC-Classic run directory? |
@cbutenhoff: We are working on porting the carbon simulation to GCHP, see geoschem/geos-chem#1992 and geoschem/geos-chem#1984. |
Yes, thanks @yantosca and @lizziel. I was referring to the CH4 simulation in GC-Classic, as well as an older ethane simulation, that allows the user to turn off chemistry that's not used for the species and import OH fields instead of online calculation. From the posts you linked, this sounds similar to what I had in mind. |
Thanks @cbutenhoff. I think the Ethane simulation was taken out of GC a while ago, as there was no use case for it any longer. I am currently debugging some issues in the GCHP carbon simulation so it may take a while before I get things sorted out. We are prioritizing the carbon simulation for both GCClassic and GCHP. |
Hi @cbutenhoff, are you all set with this issue? |
Yes, thanks. Can you provide a link to info on the carbon simulation in
GCHP?

I think the only documentation we currently have for the carbon simulation in GCHP are the PRs that @yantosca linked to above. |
I will close this issue now. |

Description of your issue or question
I couldn't find any mention of it in the docs, but is there an offline OH simulation available in GCHP like in Classic GEOS-Chem? Would you recommend contacting one of the working groups about this possible addition in the future?
Thank you.
