Software and hardware versions

Collect v1.10.0 beta 1

Problem description

The short itext form as described here, shown in some of the examples here and in the itext value tag types section here is not respected. I believe the intent was for the short form to be displayed in the form hierarchy view and for the long form to be used in the widgets. @adammichaelwood perhaps you have seen this in some other documentation? The intent is not clearly stated so I'm hypothesizing.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Load the form short-label-test.xml.txt

Expected behavior

I thought the short value would be used in the hierarchy view. I may be misunderstanding the intent. @yanokwa perhaps you remember?

Ah, even more telling from https://bitbucket.org/javarosa/javarosa/wiki/xform:

Even within a single language, it is helpful to have multiple 'forms' of the same string. For example, a verbose phrasing used as the caption when answering a question, but a short, terse phrasing when that question is shown in the form summary.
