[Linux] Trying to highlight text causes split to resize

Hi there,

There are a couple of issues around the terminal splits I would like to report:

1. The area that registers the mouse drag event around the split invades the terminal area preventing you from selecting the first two characters if every line.
2. On the right side of the split there is no visual queue that this will happen since the mouse cursor does not change as it does on the left side. This is confusing.

Ideally the size of the area where the drag can occur is exactly the same as the actual visible area of the split and is correctly identified by the mouse cursor changing on every side.

An alternative at least for me is to have an option to disable split resizing with the mouse, I never resize my splits with the mouse . This should be off by default since most people would probably get confused by it.

I disagree, if it's off by default most people wouldn't know you could have resized splits with your mouse in the first place.

This can be fixed easily by increasing the size of the visible area of the split to match the area where the drag mouse event occurs and have an option to control that size.

I see you made not attempt to even acknowledge the fact that you can't select the first two characters from left to right or that there is no visual dragging indication when you enter the drag area from right to left. Maybe my video was not clear enough ?

Ah okay. I had interpreted it as "[Resizing with the mouse] should be off by default since most people would probably get confused by it" while you had meant "[Disabling resizing with the mouse] should be off by default since most people would probably get confused by it", apologies.

Oh that's definitely an issue.

isn't particularly useful, and adds absolutely nothing to the conversation (it's almost as bad as a "+1" comment). I hence only commented on things which I believed weren't already obvious from your original post, or things which may be an issue if this were to be changed.
