Last Update: 2010-01-02 Alan Nisota This code allows teh Windows CoreAVC codec to be used in linux with various players (mplayer, mythtv, xine) You must purchase CoreAVC from the CoreCodec web-site to use this codec. As of r84, this code is only supported when used with Wine. The mplayer 'loader' based code is no longer supported You must have a recent version of Wine installed. There are 3 ways to get a functional dshowserver: a) Use the included dshowserver.exe b) cross-compile with a mingw compile suite via: make X_COMPILE=1 c) Build a winelib version after installing all Wine headers: make Next, install the CoreAVC codec via Wine: wine CoreAVC Professional Edition-2.0.0_Setup.exe You must have a valid serial-number in order to complete the installation all releases from 1.0 to 2.0 should be supported via this method finally test dshowserver via: wine dshowserver -c <path to CoreAVCDecoder.ax> -s 1280x720 -g 09571a4b-f1fe-4c60-9760de6d310c7c31 -b 12 -f 0x34363248 -o 0x30323449 -d or wine dshowserver.exe -c <path to CoreAVCDecoder.ax> -s 1280x720 -g 09571a4b-f1fe-4c60-9760de6d310c7c31 -b 12 -f 0x34363248 -o 0x30323449 -d usually, the CoreAVCDecoder.ax will exist at: ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/CoreCodec/CoreAVC Professional/CoreAVCDecoder.ax Currently the Xine patch is out of date, but the mplayer and mythtv patches should work properly. See the wiki at http://code.google.com/p/coreavc-for-linux for further details. Ensure that the full path to the CoreAVCDecoder.ax is provided in all config files, or that CoreAVCDecoder.ax is in the same directory as dshowserver
