New feature: Switch tabs while maximized

I switch a lot between normal/maximized terminal keybindings: toggle_zoom (not: full_screen) Since I switch between overview / really long output

I also switch a lot between tabs keybindings: next_tab since I use separate tabs for separate servers

I do not understand why, the in all other aspects lovely, Terminator prevents tab switching while zoomed. I have not seen any configuration that disallows this, or why it would cause a problem.

I would like switching while maximized to be allowed. I just might even try to write this myself, albeit quite uncertain ETA, but rather not if the idea is rejected.

It is a good idea. I have no idea why this is not allowed currently, and would definitely welcome a pull request that allows this.

I believe this already works, probably since #553. In 2.1.3 I can switch tabs from a maximised window.

I just upgraded from 1.91 and I was actually looking for the opposite, I am used to maximise windows and forget they're maximised, and my traditional way of noticing this was when I tried to split with the keyboard shortcut and it wouldn't do anything. Now it seems to unzoom and make the split. I would love it if there was a setting to enable/disable keybindings when maximised, but I also agree a visual indicator would be ideal (#618).

Also, note the docs are not consistent with the current behaviour: "When you are zoomed or maximised it is not possible to split terminals, or create new tabs".
