Left angle bracket (less than) not allowed in input

I'm using tags of the form "Kris Braun [email protected]". Left angle brackets cannot be entered in the input field. (Worked with 0.15, broken in 1.0.)

The problem with the left angle bracket is that it shares the same keycode with the comma character, so it's deemed a hotkey by the directive. I guess that can be solved by ignoring any keystroke when a modifier is on.
