This kiiind of feels like it's a vscode formatting bug, but since Matt assigned it to TS, it's fine to fix it here -- and @link already does a good deal of parsing/formatting for vscode.

Also, this fix doesn't add support for markdown links, but "parse markdown" isn't on the roadmap for typescript's jsdoc support.
