Behavior of pressing <Enter> on a directory

I'm a bit confused about what exactly is happening when I highlight a directory and then press <Enter> when using this plugin. I'm also using Neotree and I can see that after doing this it updates to show the contents of the directory I selected, but when I use :pwd to check what my current directory is it didn't change. I noticed this behavior because my file picker is still looking for files in the original directory I opened Neovim with, but I expected that my directory would change.

I found that I can use <c-\> in Yazi.nvim to change the directory, which accomplishes what I want, but then I'm confused about what pressing <Enter> on a directory is doing by default. Is there an option to customize the behavior similar to open_file_function?

I'm using LazyVim in case that additional context is relevant.

Hi, I think you're essentially correct on everything. The behaviour when opening a file can be customized by defining your own open_file_function.

I also use lazyvim, and I set open_for_directories = true in my config here so that if I ever open a directory in neovim, yazi is opened. You might like it too.

Hi. Thank you for confirming that my assessment is correct. However, I still don't understand what is the default behavior of selecting a directory in Yazi.nvim. What effect does that have in Neovim?

It tells neovim to open the directory, just like it does for files. I think the default is to open netrw, and in lazyvim it might be that neotree focuses on that directory, or something similar.
