Sorry if it is a dump question. The G'mic qt option done previously was working nicely right? Instead of adding all to blender and make it heavy is it better to link it as an external program? |
Hello, there is no dumb question. G'MIC allows many UI variants since it is a GUI-less framework. This video chapter shows variants of G'MIC x Blender integrations: https://youtu.be/qbJv7QScs3s?t=797 I apologize for my lack of dedication for gmic-blender for now. gmic-blender just embeds the binary pre-compiled gmic-py module, which can help developers to script GUIs if they want without needing to think how to embed G'MIC. What I miss for gmic-py is an automated build system that gets triggered every time G'MIC has a new Git tag, in general.. And for the Windows build especially, something for easy wheel module repair, which is about to be unlocked in this issue.. I will ask for automated building help on the gmic-py upstream pixls.us forum thread. |
Thank you for the reply. I see somebody was linking audacity to sequencer and do the recording and editing of sound files in audacity. So I thought may be we can do something like that about G'mic qt also. And you are the best person to consult with. |
G'MIC is well integrated with proper nodes in Natron... this has been ready
and up to date since year..
If video sequencing is desired, maybe Natron should be used.. although this
is out of Blender..

If there is a G'MIC or Blender-related technical/artistic residence or
sprint where I would obliged to sit down and work, I would patch and update
the blender-custom-nodes project... Nodes parameters are animateable...
Just.. for video sequencing, each filter should be togglable over time, not
just ON for all frames.
