Issue #486 was just closed and the related branch could be deleted without merge into master. There are commits in that branch that fix other issues (such as #169). These commits will be lost when that branch is deleted since its content will not be merged into master.

This work should be done in a new branch from master.

Good example of why not to blend multiple issues in one branch unless specifically related to that branch.
