Close up empty space #295

Hey @BrianBarry, I don't quite understand what you mean. Can you maybe elaborate or add a screenshot to show what you mean? When you have a list of tasks and tasks get removed (for example because they are done), the list will get shorter. There won't be any "empty" space where the tasks used to be. If you are referring to the removal of done tasks not happening, you should add Does this help? |

Martin,
Thank you for getting back to me. Sorry I did not explain the issue clearly. My problem may well be caused by the fact that I’m new to Obsidian.
I’ll try to provide a more complete explanation. This first screenshot shows a page with a query. Works fine.
I embed that query on my Daily Note Page.
When I preview the query I get something like this. Again, no problems.
If I complete some of these actions, I get the following:
The problem is the white space that continues to appear where the completed tasks originally were. On days with 15-20 tasks this gets to be a very large part of the Daily Note Page.
If I delete the Daily Note Page and re-create it, the extra white space is gone.
Is it possible to eliminate the white space previously occupied with completed Tasks as they are completed?
Hope this is a better explanation.
Brian

If you are referring to the removal of done tasks not happening, you should add not done to your query so that tasks that are done get removed from the list.

Martin,
I took a different approach and solved the problem myself. Chalk it up to an “Operator too close to keyboard” error. Sorry to bother you.

When a query produces a result with, say, 10 actions it requires "x" vertical space. As the actions are completed and removed from the list "x" remains at its original length. To make daily note pages easier to use, recommend that each completion/removal result in a reduction in "x" to only what is needed for the remaining tasks.
