Update the default icons used to be more modern looking

🔖 Feature description

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a CSS snippet or other method to give the task theme icons a bit of a refresh. I'd love something more modern that complements themes like Minimal and Things. The current green checkmark for completed tasks is a bit jarring, in particular. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There are two options:

This is perfect! Thank you so much, Clare. I was able to add the theme and see the icons. It's great! Have you considered adding some alternate theme options such as this theme to the tasks plugin to make it easier to use?

By “theme”, I presume you mean the CSS files in that obsidian-tasks-custom-icons repo.

If so, yes I have considered it - it’s on a very long list of things that would be nice to do.

As far as I know, you are the first user to suggest it.

You could help the Tasks project out by:

1. Having a think about what that feature would look like in Tasks? Be specific. Is it a command? A user setting? How would the user choose between the available icon sets? And so on.
2. Then creating a Feature Request that fully describes what you envisage. If it is user settings, then ideally include a sketch of what the new section of settings might look like.
