How to style NON_TASK to get default look?

Sometimes I would like to use simple checklists in my notes without them being recognized as tasks by Tasks.

(Global filters are too cumbersome for me, since 99% of my checklist items are real tasks...btw, it would be a really great feature if there was a negative global filter)

So I tried to create two custom statuses of the type “NON-TASK”:

Unfortunately, I can't find a CSS snippet that allows me to display these two statuses as if they were normal checklist items (checked and unchecked). Both appear with the "checked" icon. Can someone help me out with an appropriate snippet?

You can achieve that already by using a Global Query..
https://publish.obsidian.md/tasks/Queries/Global+Query

Add instruction(s) in your global query to filter out the tasks you are not interested in...
Then for the odd times where you want to find those filtered out ones, put the following in a task query, either temporarily or permanently:

ignore global query

Styling specific custom status symbols

I cannot offer CSS support - but I can think of the following existing options:

thinking about it, making use of the global query might be the cleanest solution for my purpose.

Also thanks for taking the time to list resources regarding the CSS part - highly appreciate it.
I already tried to customize the snippets listed there, only difficulty is getting an empty checkbox for a custom status instead of a custom symbol. But i think i will settle with the global query for now.
