Configure auth for uplinks with basic auth (Nexus)

The documentation only shows configuration for uplinks with type: "bearer" but this seems not to be supported by private npm company repository of Nexus https://help.sonatype.com/repomanager3/formats/npm-registry#npmRegistry-AuthenticationUsingBasicAuth

How to not use "bearer" auth type but "basic auth" with provided username/email and token, instead?

Ok by checking your source code it should work the following way, but still struggling, can you verify?

I extended cache to 30m, still when I connect to local Verdaccio it takes even more time to download dependencies compared to connect to Remote Nexus.
@jachstet-sea did you experienced similar numbers? Also strange is, that proxied dependencies are not visible in the browser ui.

The proxied dependencies not visible in the UI is expected behaviour. Verdaccio only displays packages on the web-ui that have been published to it. It won't display any packages that have been downloaded from other remotes.
About verdaccio being slower the directly, I cannot say for sure. I do have a caching time of about 24h. Installing packages via verdaccio is okay, could be faster. But I don't blame verdaccio, I blame the slow network instead ;)
