REQUEST:
Having 3 kind of pre-define Pencils, each one with a FIX specific colour as a default (unless the Black-Pencil-Tool which is the main Pencil Tool) will help animation with a faster work flow.
One pencil with FIX colour RED (for making BACKGROUNDS)
Another pencil with FIX colour BLUE (for making the rough draws and in-betweens)
The last pencil with CHANGEABLE colour would be (as a starting point) BLACK (for cleaning and finishing)

Good suggestion!
It's common trick in animation.

@carlosgf should we implement it in vector layer, bitmap layer? or both?

Matt,
Well,
as you asked me I believe it should be implemented only in bitmap because I think (just talking loud) when it came to cleaning colouring and finishing the drawings those who are interested in the vector rendering will not use the 3, but only the black changeable one....
Nevertheless it would be better to ask on the forum for a survey related to your question because I believe it will be a very good implementation

Sorry Matt but it seems that I "closed" this comment without knowing how I did it. It was not intentionally

Sorry about that

Hi Matt,

Tell me something please. If someone "close" this issue, what would that means?... Well, I am asking this because i thought that I had seen this same issue fixed yesterday (?)... but being closed doesn´t mean being fixed, right? or does it?

Thanks!

In most cases, "close" means the issue is resolved.

@chchwy This one is interesting but I think it's better to think of making presets within the same tool, instead of creating "more" tools.

This will become possible when MyPaint lib becomes implemented. So later on we could extend the functionality to create not only tools with specific colors, but erasers that delete only a certain hue or even a specific color as well, for example.
