Dismiss friend notifications from history after some time has passed #31611

I would say this is a low priority thing and ultimately doesn't really matter all too much, but it is kind of annoying to see a dozen or so notifications clogging up the inbox for something you only need to see once. I know people will say, "Just clear your notifications," but I feel like having these types of notifications stay until you manually clear them is somewhat irritating, for lack of a better word. I think a limit of maybe 5 minutes is more than enough. This means that even if a player has notifications off during maps they will likely still see the notification since, statistically speaking, they probably aren't playing a 5+ minute map. And even if they are, they'll probably still catch the tail-end of the notification since it's unlikely they started the map right as the notification was sent. Alternatively (And I think this is a better idea, but don't know if it's possible under the current system), the limit could be 30 seconds to a minute, but the timer only starts once the notification is actually seen by the player/shows physically on the screen. Like I said, it's not too important, but I feel that auto-clearing notifications for low priority things like who's online is a nice QoL feature to have. Sorry in advance if this was already suggested, I tried searching for keywords on discussions opened in the past month or so and found nothing. |

To add on a bit to this idea, I think prioritising notifications in a sort of 3-tier system would be nice. Priority 1 things are auto-cleared in 30 seconds to a minute (If option 2 is chosen for implementation), priority 2 items will clear after maybe 5-10 minutes and priority 3 items won't auto-clear. |

I can agree that they should be automatically cleared from the history. I may look into this as a quick change. |
