Customising the GUI

Change language

Settings > General TAB > Console language: Change the language of the games. If not available, english will be select Settings > General TAB > Emulator language: You can change the language of the GUI.
We currently support more than 20 languages.

Display the compatibility of your games

Settings > General TAB:

Check Display Compatibility Data. You can also check Update compatibility Database on Startup if you want to.
And then you will see something like this:

- With a left-click on the column `compatibility`, you can open the issue on github
- If you hover it, you will have more information about the last update like this:

Organise game list

  • Game List mode: If you prefer your games list inline (List View) or in grid (Grid View).

  • Game List icons: Changing the size of the game icons.
  • Themes: You can select differents themes for the GUI.

Trophies

Settings > General TAB > GUI Settings > Disable Trophy Pop-ups: You can disable the trophy pop-ups. They remain active but are no longer displayed
To see the list of available trophies and those obtained:

  1. right-click on the game
  2. Click on Trophy Viewer

Music

Settings > General TAB > GUI Settings > Play title Music: This allows you to choose whether or not to play the game's music when it is selected from the list.
You can also manage its volume just below.

Updating shadPS4

Update Channel -> Release or Nightly
  • You can activate auto-update of shadPS4 and if you prefer only on major release or every nightly release
  • You can also choose to check when you start shadPS4 or not

    • Settings

    Emulator

    • Settings > General TAB > Emulator:

      • Enable fullscreen: It will automatically put your game on full-screen mode
      • Eneble Separate Update folder: With this setting, you can separate the basic 1.0 game from its updates. In this way, you can test the game in 2 different versions without the update overwriting the original version.
      • Show splash: We advise you to leave unchecked. This will display an image of the game when it is launched.
      • Enable Rich Discord presence:

      • Username: Set the PS4's account username which may be displayed by some games

    • Settings > General TAB > Logger: Please do not change this unless you know what you are doing.

    Input

    • Settings > Input TAB > Cursor: You can choose whether or not to see your cursor in games. It can either always be displayed (Never), or disappear after a certain time, which can be set just below the parameter (Idle), or never appear at all (Always).

    Add & Remove game folders

    • Settings > Paths TAB: You can add multiple game folders if needed

    Debug

    • Settings > Debug TAB: Please do not change this unless you know what you are doing.

    GPU and Window size

    • Settings > Graphics TAB: You can choose which GPU to use if you have more than one. This is the case, for example, with IGPU + GPU combos. We advise you to use the GPU and not the iGPU or leave it to automatic.
      You can also change the window size, this won't affect the game's resolution, also if you play in full screen it won't change anything.

    • Settings > Graphics TAB > vBlank Divider: Please do not change these settings unless you know what you are doing.
    • Settings > Graphics TAB > Advanced: Please do not change these settings unless you know what you are doing.

    Cheats and Patches

  • To use cheats or patches, you can right-click on the game you want to activate them for:

  • You have two tabs:

  • You can choose on which repository you want to find it (wolf2022, goldHEN, shadPS4), then click on Download Cheats / Download Patches
    • image
  • It will download every cheats or patches present on the repo.
  • You can now check or uncheck it and then start the game:

    Important: We do not provide any help if use cheats, patches or mods. We only support games without it.
