What I did

How I did it

On branch reboot_pre_check_201811
Changes not staged for commit:
(use "git add ..." to update what will be committed)
(use "git checkout -- ..." to discard changes in working directory)

modified: scripts/reboot

How to verify it

  • Write a platform pre check script(platform_reboot_pre_check) and place it in /usr/share/sonic/device// directory.
  • If the script exit with status 0, reboot will be proceeded.
  • If script exit with non-zero status, the reboot script gets stopped.

Previous command output (if the output of a command-line utility has changed)

New command output (if the output of a command-line utility has changed)

@sujinmkang sujinmkang merged commit 7576790 into sonic-net:201811 Apr 22, 2021
sujinmkang pushed a commit to sonic-net/sonic-buildimage that referenced this pull request May 4, 2021
Why I did it
To monitor the SSD health condition in DellEMC S6100 platform post upgrade.
A daemon is introduced to monitor the SSD every one hour.
To check for SSD status at boot time and at the time of cold-reboot.
All these changes are supported only for newer SSD firmware.
Porting changes from 201911 branch
Added a platform_reboot_pre_check script to prevent cold-reboot based on SSD status.
Depends on sonic-net/sonic-utilities#1557
