Making the customized display board
To make this board, you'll need the folowing:
- a 6 x 4 cm prototype board
- the 0,96" OLED
- a rotary encoder
- a piezo buzzer
- two 10K resistors
- a 5x2 connector
- a micro switch (optional)
- a couple of wires.
Here's what the board looks like:
Place all parts exactly where they show up in the image. So they will fit perfectly when mounted to the case top.
All parts are soldered directly onto the prototype board. Before you place and solder the OLED, make sure you have placed, soldered and wired up the buzzer. Make sure the contacts of the buzzer don't interfere with the electronics on the back of the OLED. Some sort of isolation won't hurt.
In the schematics you'll see how to wire this board up. Since there are not much parts on this PCB, it's not very complicated. Just be careful not to exchange or short +5V and GND. Measure twice before you connect the display to the controller.
