Why is F1 setup as alternative shortcut for quickbuild?

Quickbuild (Build & View) is accessible via F5 and F1. Looking into congfig/Shortcuts/Tools/Build View you can see what is confirmed by following code (texstudio.cpp):

    newManagedAction(menu, "quickbuild", tr("&Build && View"), SLOT(commandFromAction()), (QList<QKeySequence>() << Qt::Key_F5 << Qt::Key_F1), "build")->setData(BuildManager::CMD_QUICK);

Without removing F1 from quickbuild in the config you can't use it for Help/LaTeX Reference..., for example. In fact you can do such a duplicate setup but then F1 will not work at all without any hints. Compiling with debug shows the reason:

QAction::event: Ambiguous shortcut overload: F1

Is F1 thought to be used for other OS than Windows? Maybe we could split the code with #ifdef or so?

the why is irrelevant (history of txs).
The point is that you can define "f1" as shortcut for help/latex and txs asks you to remove the original shortcut to "buil&view" and here that works fine.
You can also manually remove the shortcut for "build&view" which works also fine here.

So, does shortcut editing not work on your side ?

Sorry, I was confused. I thought F1 should be free so I changed the ini file manually. If I understand well, there is nothing we can improve.

exactly. txs already offers the possibiliyt to remove predefined shortcuts, so you need to use the shortcut editor to see how that is written into the ini.
