Warp Sequencer, as a blockchain, requires a token on which the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) security mechanism is based.
Initially, the token requirement is purely technical because in the first version, network nodes will be managed by the Warp team, and transactions containing data items will be accepted without any fees. Therefore, initially, the chain will be based on a token called warptest.
In the future, the network will be opened up, and fees will be introduced. Opening up the network aims to increase transparency and make it trustless. The fees are meant to protect the network from spamming and cover maintenance costs. For both reasons, a token will be needed, which will eventually be called warp.
The goal of the task is to plan and test the migration mechanism from the test token to the target token while preserving the entire chain history.
