Does anybody know why there is no progress on travis?

No, the Travis setup is a bit flaky though, so hopefully this retriggered it

There still seems to be no progress on CI...

There is an OutOfMemoryError (as in #160) that should not be caused by this PR... Does someone understand this?

@ranocha would you like to rebase this PR and see if it still works as expected? A rebase might get rid of the OutOfMemoryError, or make it more obvious where it's coming from (or not).

Thanks for the hint, @jpsamaroo. The OutOfMemoryError is still present on Travis. Locally, I get

The local error looks like a similar issue to #165

Yes, the local error on my computer seems to be similar. However, the error on Travis seems to be different, I think.
