How to Track GA Events
To use Joystation, you must connect it to Google Analytics. We recommend using a new key.
While you might be familiar with using Google Analytics to track page hits and clicks to linked pages. Since JoyStation is designed to never leave a single page, those sorts of datums will be few and far between; really just when you turn the kiosk on or change the question.
Instead, JoyStation makes use of Google Analytics Events. An event has three text-entry parameters and a single numerical value. For example: category: "" label: "The selection on this shelf is" action: "joy" value: 100
The value of each joy entry is averaged over the course of each hour, day, week, and month. When viewed linearly, you can track a general mood over time. The full scale ranges from -200 to +200.
- -200 angry
- -100 unhappy
- 0 neutral
- 100 happy
- 200 blissfull
To view those stats, navigate to Behavior > Events > Top Events and access the Event's average value
