NPSP has existing functionality to aid with address verification. Non-profits are able to set some basic settings and link to a no-or-low cost address verification service (Smarty Street, Google Maps, Cicero) using an API key. NPSP creates a new record in the Address custom table when an account is created (Household, Organization, or both depending on settings).
Enhancements to this functionality might include:
- allowing for bulk verification of addresses for Google Maps (currently only functions for Smarty Streets)
- allowing the verification to run on custom or PMM objects, possibly by modifying the Address record, adding automation to add address to other objects, or allowing it to run on other similar custom objects.
- including data verification services in donated or discounted Salesforce products that non-profits can receive.
Currently the data returned by the address verification services varies slightly depending on the service. Generally speaking, the following data is returned: Sample data is returned from Smarty Streets
