The Submission abstract model is used to collect data on how publicly (if enabled) accessible forms got filled out, containing various disparate fields associated both with "submissions" and "logging." It's use should be re-thought with the recent developments relating to the view of the Person model (see #708).
See also #709 for public (thus IPs are collected) forms, #229 for a new view for logging (with activity-streams), and #683 for activity streams for submissions.
