@bebbs what do you think about this change? I tried to find the equivalent of the $default-branch macro for use in JavaScript, but there doesn't appear to be one (so it seems that can only be referenced in the YAML context).

But just checking if the branch is either master or main seems like it should be sufficient.

For context, I ended up going a different route. Instead of hardcoding master/main, I used the GitHub API to fetch the default_branch. Looks like it's in good shape now!
