Channel search is implemented in the API, but not in the frontend, this need to be changed

Describe the solution you'd like

The implementation of it, in a dedicated search box.

The frontend does actually have a way to access the channel search API.
channel search

And its through the channel:* thing which is automatically added to the search bar whenever you open a channel. Though I think a dedicated search box would probably look nicer.

Yes, a dedicated search box is definitely better.

The frontend does actually have a way to access the channel search API. channel search

And its through the channel:* thing which is automatically added to the search bar whenever you open a channel. Though I think a dedicated search box would probably look nicer.

I use yewtu.be and for me the channel:* thing is not automatically added.

Also note that the syntax is keywords channel:[CHANNEL-ID].

I did not understand you had to put the channel ID after channel.
