Kontalk supports one personal key to be used at a given time. If you register from another device with the same phone number, Kontalk will use a new key, therefore the old one will become invalid.
To overcome this problem, you need to export your key from the old device and copy it to the new one.
- Open Kontalk settings
- Choose "Maintenance > Export personal key"
- Choose a new password to encrypt the key or insert the previously chosen password
- A new file will appear in your external storage, called kontalk-keys.zip
- Transfer the zip file to the new device and move it to the same location
- Open Kontalk registration screen in the new device
- Choose Menu > Import key
- Insert the password you entered in the old device
- Proceed with registration instructions normally
