Stable releases

Stable releases of RCB should always be available via Kodis official addon repository or on RCBs Release site. If any changes to config files and/or database layout are required, they will be done automatically on first run after installation (RCB will back up all modified files in this case).

via Kodi repository

• Go to Kodis Addon Browser: Add-ons -> Download -> Program Add-ons -> Rom Collection Browser
• Choose Install

via zip file

• Go to RCB releases page and download the latest zip file.
• Go to Kodis Addon Browser: Add-ons -> Add-on Browser -> Install from zip file

Current Git version

You can check RCBs current development status and grab the current git version for testing. Just go to RCBs Homepage and click on the green "Clone or Download" button and select "Download ZIP" in the small popup window. This zip file can be installed via Kodis addon browser like any other addon zip file.

Please note: The current git version may require changes to your config.xml file or the database layout. Official releases should always take care of these changes and update your files automatically. If you use the git version you might experience issues due to incompatibilities. You even might get stuck between two versions of database or config updates and need to roll back these changes if you want to go back to an "official" release. So, it it is a good advice to make backups of your database and config file before you start experimenting with the git version.

RCB Service Addon

You will additionally need the "Rom Collection Browser Service" to perform tasks at Kodi startup. The service should be installed together with RCB automatically. Anyway, if you need to install it manually, here is how to do it:

• Download service.rom.collection.browser-1.0.0.zip
• Go to Kodis Addon Browser: Add-ons -> Add-on Browser -> Install from zip file

RCB Widget

Since release 2.2.0 there is an additional addon called "Rom Collection Browser Widget". This is used to get your games on Kodis home screen along with data and information that RCB provides. You can also launch your games with RCB from Kodis home screen using the RCB widget. See RCB Widget for installation and configuration instructions.
