AWS Evidently will be discontinued on October 16, 2025.

Ahead of that AWS has apparently disabled creating new Evidently projects via the AWS API as of November 8, 2024. As evidenced by template-infra's infra testing breaking:

Creating Evidently Feature Flags and Projects still work via the AWS Console as of November 14, 2024.

AWS recommends moving to AWS AppConfig: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/mt/support-for-amazon-cloudwatch-evidently-ending-soon/

That said, an engineer looked into AppConfig and it doesn't look great, so leaning towards an alternative option, potentially one that leverages SSM which has less functionality but is much simpler.
