Nokogiri is significantly faster, and now has a pure-java backend for use on JRuby. This patch potentially breaks backwards compatibility, as parse_xml_bindings no longer accepts REXML elements.

Context
This project
sparql-clientis responsible for providing a DSL for SPARQL and sending HTTP requests to the Triple store, either to query, insert, or delete a graph.He was originally by the ruby-rdf project, that we forked in version 1.1.0 in 2013. We have added cache functionally and patches to work for 4store.
The issue is that the code has never been re-updated to sync the upstream, this PR does that.
