In Gutenberg 5.9.0 some code was deprecated which caused the Jetpack Contact form to stop working. I believe this also affects the Caxton grid and section blocks. Any nested content disappears on Save.

I had similar issues with some of my own blocks. See bobbingwide/oik-blocks#24 (comment)
