TeX is a typesetting system that enables the rendering of math equations in various types of documents.

A TeX backend is required by R Markdown and iPython Notebook when converting those formats to the PDF format.

Mac users please download and install the complete version of MacTeX.

Windows

Windows users please download and install the complete version of MikTeX.
