Age of Imperial Hubris
The Ancient Ghosts allied with the The Elf Queen and taught the The Elf Queen the art of capturing memories. As elves began to swell the ranks of ancient ghosts, they began to turn their purposes toward the needs of the elves over the needs of the world. The Living Dungeon of the Ancient Ghosts quietly fell under the sway of the Elf Queen.
The Imperial Legion saw enemies everywhere. They made a deal with a cabal of Hell Wizards to wake and arm the mountains themselves, raising them as undead giants against their avenging kin. The Imperial Legion attacked the Ancient Dungeon of the Living Ghosts with an undead giant, beginning a war with elves, believing ancient ghosts had control over living dungeons.
Many of the remaining Living Dungeons were destroyed by the Legion's undead giants. Bards developed a tragic saga (Threnody for Architecture) lamenting their final loss.
A contested site, supposedly above a living dungeon, was located by the Legion. Their undead giant dug all the way to hell, striking a small demonic keep. Wizards of the Diabolist, attempting to extract their pay from the Legion, decided to make it a living dungeon anyway.
This Age ended when the Empire and its Legions were destroyed by a war on many fronts, with terrain-devastating powers (and giants, and dungeons) that shattered the continent.
